Equipment

  • large skillet
  • small bowl
  • spatula or spoon
  • paper towels

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced or grated
  • 1–2 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or cilantro
  • To taste salt

Instructions

  • If needed, peel and devein the shrimp. Pat them completely dry with paper towels. Lightly season with a pinch of salt.
Dry shrimp are the key to getting that beautiful golden exterior.
  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, and chopped herbs. Stir until smooth and evenly combined. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and slightly golden.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Add the prepared Cajun garlic butter to the skillet. Stir gently as the butter melts and coats the shrimp. Cook another 1–2 minutes until shrimp are fully cooked. Serve hot with extra herbs.

Notes

Adjust spice to taste, use fresh or frozen shrimp, and consider butter swaps or herbs variations for lighter or brighter flavors. Leftovers keep 3 days refrigerated or up to 2 months frozen.
