Ingredients
  

  • 4 pork chops (bone-in or boneless, about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • to taste salt and black pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (white, apple cider, or rice wine)
  • pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Pat pork chops dry with a paper towel. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pork chops 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chops and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in honey, water, vinegar, and optional red pepper flakes. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, 2–3 minutes.
  • Return pork chops to the skillet. Spoon sauce over the chops and simmer 5–7 minutes until pork is cooked through (internal temperature 145°F / 63°C). Remove from heat and let rest 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Both bone-in and boneless pork chops work; bone-in stays juicier. Maple syrup or agave can substitute for honey. Adjust vinegar based on taste; apple cider adds subtle sweetness. Butter can be replaced with olive oil for a lighter version. Fresh minced garlic is best, though garlic powder works in a pinch.
