Equipment

  • large pot for boiling noodles
  • mixing bowls for coating and batter
  • whisk
  • deep skillet for frying chicken
  • small saucepan for honey garlic sauce
  • tongs or slotted spoon
  • colander for draining noodles

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 0.5 cup water
  • oil for frying (as needed)
  • 0.33 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.33 cup water
  • 8 oz spaghetti or lo mein noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti or lo mein noodles according to package instructions until tender. Drain the noodles and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and water to create a light batter for coating the chicken.
  • Dip each piece of chicken into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the flour and cornstarch mixture. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat and fry the chicken in batches for about 5–6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • In a small saucepan, combine the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens into a glossy honey garlic glaze.
  • Add the fried chicken to the saucepan and toss gently until every piece is fully coated with the sticky honey garlic sauce.
  • Melt the butter with olive oil in a separate pan. Add the cooked noodles along with salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Toss gently until the noodles are evenly coated with the buttery herb mixture.
  • Plate the buttered herb noodles and top them with the honey garlic chicken. Spoon any remaining sauce over the chicken and serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan while frying to keep the chicken crispy. Use fresh garlic for the best flavor in the sauce. Adjust sauce thickness with extra water or cornstarch if needed. Let fried chicken rest on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve immediately for the best texture. You can add chili flakes for heat, sesame seeds for crunch, or stir-fried vegetables for extra nutrition.
