Equipment

  • large skillet
  • small saucepan
  • frying pan
  • spatula or tongs
  • serving plates

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 beef or chicken breakfast sausages
  • 4 slices beef or turkey bacon
  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 medium tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup baked beans
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil. Cook the sausages for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and fully cooked.
  • In the same pan, cook the bacon for 3–4 minutes on each side until slightly crispy. Remove and set aside to keep warm.
  • Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté for 4–5 minutes until tender and lightly golden.
  • Place the halved tomatoes cut-side down in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until slightly softened and lightly charred.
  • In a small saucepan, heat the baked beans over low heat, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
  • Melt butter in a separate pan and fry the bread slices until golden and crispy.
  • Fry the eggs in a lightly oiled pan to your preferred doneness. For a traditional English breakfast, keep the yolks slightly runny.
  • Arrange the eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, baked beans, and fried bread on serving plates. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

Use medium heat when cooking bacon and sausages to prevent burning. Fry the bread just before serving for the crispiest texture. Keep cooked ingredients warm in a low oven (around 200°F / 90°C) while finishing the rest. Add a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the baked beans for extra flavor, and finish the plate with fresh parsley for brightness.
