Equipment

  • large serving platter
  • sharp knife
  • cutting board
  • small bowl for lemon juice

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas, sliced lengthwise
  • 3 oranges (2 sliced, 1 for peel strips)
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  • Place banana slices vertically in the center of a large platter to form the butterfly’s body.
  • Cut thin strips from orange peel and place them at the top of the banana body to create antennae.
  • Arrange orange slices on both sides of the banana body to form the base of the wings.
  • Add kiwi slices next to the oranges to create a green layer and contrast.
  • Arrange sliced strawberries to create a red section of the butterfly wings.
  • Fill in gaps with raspberries and blueberries to complete the colorful wing pattern.
  • Lightly brush banana slices with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Adjust fruit placement for symmetry and a balanced butterfly shape.
  • Chill the platter in the refrigerator for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use firm, fresh fruit for the best presentation. Assemble shortly before serving to maintain freshness. You can swap fruits based on seasonality or preference. Brush bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning and keep the platter vibrant.
