Equipment

  • oven
  • baking sheet
  • large skillet
  • mixing bowl
  • knife
  • cutting board

Ingredients

  • 500 g sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into thick fries
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt, to taste (for fries)
  • 2 cups lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for salad)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Toss potato fries with vegetable oil and a pinch of salt. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 30–40 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
  • In a bowl, combine sliced steak with garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Mix thoroughly and let marinate for 15–20 minutes.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Sear the steak in batches for 2–3 minutes until browned but still tender. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add sliced onions and bell peppers. Sauté over medium-high heat for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp and slightly caramelized.
  • Return the steak to the skillet and toss everything together for 1–2 minutes so flavors combine and the sauce lightly coats the meat and vegetables.
  • In a bowl, combine lettuce, cucumber, and cherry tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice, then toss gently to coat.
  • Plate the garlic pepper steak stir-fry alongside crispy fries and the fresh garden salad. Serve immediately.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the steak up to 2 hours. Use low-sodium soy sauce to reduce salt content. Ensure fries are spaced apart on the baking sheet for maximum crispiness. Salad is best assembled just before serving to maintain freshness and crunch.
